Table cabin : layered EXPERIENCE
Initially conceptualized as a simple cabin layout centered around a long table island - this idea grew into a platform that divides spacial program and connects outdoor elements around it. Organized around this ‘table’ the cabin invites a playful use of this form as a host for all activites imaginable; as a literal table, or a platform for yoga, sitting, performing, layout of large projects - leaving enough room to not have to put them out of way. On one side of the table the floor is sunken allowing the table to be counter height, further creating spaces with a protected intimacy. The table extends into the landscape on either side flanked by two windows that frame it’s transition from outdoors to in. This table is the focal point of all interaction around the cabin.
